DO VIDEO GAMES NEED VIOLENCE TO BE POPULAR?

          I heard there is many talk going around about if video games need to have violence in them to be successful but in my and others perspectives no, no they don't. This is to inform you all reading this post why video games don't need to be violent in order to be successful.

With research I found the top 10 most popular games ever they were: Mario bros, need for speed, halo, counter strike, pac-man, street fighter, god of war, GTA (grand theft auto), resident evil, moto GP. Out of all the top ten half of them are non- violent and the other half are violent. most of these are old but now with new technology we have the power to make less bad games and more play/ joyful.

A few of the games that have sold over 50 million are:

out of all these video games there are 12 that are not violent  and the rest sorta have violent. Most of the non violent games are near the top of the list witch mean this hole list shows you that games that are not violent can still be a hit in there day and now.

In my opinion I believe that the parents are the ones who make violent games popular and make the makers want to make more violent video games. Since the parents keep buying the violent games for there kids then the makers will make more and there for the game will become popular. I'm not trying to offend all you adults out there but i think if you said "no" to your kids once in a while the violent game will be no more.

Therefor games do NOT need violents in them to become popular.So now you have read this post what do you think about games needing violents in them to become popular. You make the future you decide.

Over the past few weeks me and are literature circle. This book is about a girl named parvana, her two sisters, her brother, her mom and dad. Since her parents were very educated the afganistans took her father to jail. Now that her dad is in jail, no girls can shop for anything and her brother is to young to go out parvana is forced to cut her hair and percent to be A boy to keep her family alive. She also has to go to work. Now she realized that her older sister is going to get married altho she has less people to feed it is still very hard because of her growing up.

I think that her dad will come back from jail and that the girl will 'grow up' and that she will have to stop going out for a few weeksin but befor that she will buy lots of food than when things seem bad her dad will come back.

I dont have any questions and or connections but I do have my likes. I like how it is something you wouldn't actually read for school but since it was reccomended it is really good and I can't stop reading it because it is not something Luke an everyday type of hint it is different and different is good.

I would recommend this this book to anyone and I serious mean anyone this is the type of book you never want to stop reading and never want to let go.

Here is another question but even more harder:

there are 2 rooms made of concrete the exact same size no windows. one room contains 3 light switches labeled a,b,c. in the other room contains 3 light bulbs labeled 1,2,3. and there are two doors on the out side of each room. how do you figure out witch switch controls witch light bulb. No friends,no nothing just u and u only.

The book I'm reading right now is called "The Dreamseller." it is about this a man who is wanting to comet suicide at a top of a buling that is nown for many people to comit suicide called "The San Pablo Buliding." anyways the police called a man to help this man convice him into not comiting suicide. So while they are up there they are just talking while a big crowd watches them from below, as they talk the man pulls out a sandwitch and decieds to share it. The crowd at the bottom has no clue what is happening but the two men at the top of the building keep talking. Once the talk is over the ma decided not to comit suicide and once the two reach the front of the building the so called "dremseller" (man who helped man not comit suicde) started to dance then everyyody joind in and had a sidewalk party for him not to comit suicide.

My dad told me about this book and stuff that would happen in the book but some of my predictions that my dad did not tell me are:

• once the dreamseller is poor he will realize his true meaning in life
• the dreamseller will be more kind harted to others
• will hep people not to comit suicide for free no pay

A few questions that go through my mind while i read this book is:

• why did he pull out a sandwitch? is it one of his meatods
• dose he like being a dreamseller
• what would it be like in the dreamsellers shoes
• was he a dreamseller at first or did he just ramdomly become a dreamseller

I like this book so far because it is challenging to understand and because it tells me about somthing that happens every day but never notice and never really care untill now. The only this i dont like about this book is that it is kinda confussing about what is really happening right now.

I would recommend this book to people who are looking for challenging books to read, book that make you think and to people who thought my summary at the top sounded pretty good and intersting.

EARTH HOUR/DAY YAY!!!!!!!!!

I think that earth hour is really good for the environment because of all the people who participate in this earth saving day. One thing me and my friends (Julia and Dana)are going to do for earth hour/day is going on Young st and holding a sign that says "honk to support japan" and each honk we get we are going to donate 5 cents to an organization. Even thought its not like turning off all electricity in are homes but it is apart of saving the earth because japan is apart of the earth.Two things i don't like about earth hour is that not everyone joins in to help the earth and we only do earth hour once a year for only and hour why not once a month for two hours (well that's just me). Another thing me and my friends are going to do is not this weekend but another weekend we are going to make and sell cookies that look like the earth to help earth day and also go to the park with garbage bags and picking up all the junk people throw on the ground. Well enough of me talking about earth hour/day now lets hear what your going to do and what are your thoughts are about of earth hour/day.

the book i read is just Ella. this book is like Cinderella but with a bit of a twist. the book goes like this, there's a girl named Ella living with her evil step-mom and her two evil daughter's. one day when all girls are invited to a ball Ella has every thing ready the dress and all except one thing shoes so as she goes for a walk she bets a shoe maker and his partner to make glass slippers that wont break. she comes back to try them on and she wins the bet and gets to keep the shoes once the evil nasty's leave on a carriage to go to palace Ella goes walking to the palace. while walking she stops a nice man in a carriage to bring her to look good. the nice man said to her "but of course." once they reach the palace the nice man said "if you come out of the palace before midnight i would be happy to drop you off." she replies "but i have no more money left," with a smile he says "it's is OK." so she swept the prince of his feet but the nice man and Ella still met each other at midnight.

i predict that the story will be exactly be like the Cinderella story but Ella wont like her new life style when she marries the prince and will want to back with her step-mom and her daughters.i cant make any connections since nothing like this happened to me but i can tell you i like this book alot but in the beginning was boring but Julia said it was good and she was very right i would recommend this book to people who think this book sounds good and people who like/liked the Cinderella story.

P.I.D's

some people are wondering if technology is OK to use during class and have questions like "what if there aren't enough P.I.D's (personal Internet devices) and some people cant do there work because of that, or what types of  applications do they use with the P.I.D's?" this is written to clear all those questions up and tell you why using technology is a good thing.

the first question i will answer is " what type of P.I.D's are there and what are they used for?"  there are various types of P.I.D's that are used through out the school year. we use iPad's, itouches, computers, ereader's and laptops/netbooks. P.I.D's are used for different things. we use these P.I.D's mostly for reading, finding information, finishing project's and posting post's on each others blogs. witch brings me to my next question to answer "what types of  applications do you use on your P.I.D's?" like the other answer this one has more than one that we use. the more popular ones are bitstrips, voicethread, edmodo, blogger, and g-mail. the other ones that aren't as popular but are still used are prezi, and extranormal. Prezi, bitstrips, voicethread, extranormal and blogger are used for projects. G-mail and edmodo are used to communicate with are teachers after school or over the weekends.

technology has and still is helping me and my class mates in many different ways. for example say your shy and don't like to read in front of people you can use voicethread and tell your story by there (with permission of course.) or say you have a question and non of your family members under stand you can go on g-mail and ask you teacher about it. a few challenges on using the P.I.D's are that sometimes on the iPads when posting a post on your blog sometimes they delete all of what you wrote but its OK because people don't get mad or anything like that. another challenge is that sometimes there aren't enough P.I.D's but every one is willing to share so that is not a problem.

i hope this hole  reflection convinced all people reading this that using technology during class is a good thing and i hope all of you reading this learned  few things  about using technology during class.

This book is about a girl named Claudia and her friends made a baby-sitting business called the baby-sitters club also known as BSC. Claudia's new passion is of taking pictures and as the professional photographers say "capturing the moment." I wish i could tell you more but i only started Friday.

I predict that the BSC will have a mystery to solve ,and then they will find clues from some pictures Claudia took with her camera and in the end they will solve the mystery. one question i have is that "what is the mystery and will all the members of the BSC?" Two connections i have to this book is that the both of us ( Claudia and i ) both love to take pictures and baby-sitting. So far i like this book but i haven't gotten that far so i cant really judge the book yet. I still believe that the book will be good because most mystery book's i read they are all good.

I would recommend this book to people who like mystery story's especially if they involve baby-sitting, friend ship and teamwork. :D

Title: The boy next door (a candy apple book)
Author: Laura Dower
Genre: fiction

Taryn and Jeff have been next door neighbors forever. No one ever really cared that they were boy and girl, til sixth grade. This book shows both sides of Taryn and Jeff's point of view. Once Taryn, Jeff, Leslie and Cristina (Taryn's bff's) reach sixth grade Cristina and Leslie are ready to find boyfriends. Taryn's mom told her she can only get a boyfriend til grade 8 but her bff's think otherwise, they think she should start being more than just friends with Jeff.


I predict that Taryn and Jeff will become more than friends for sixth grade but it may feel a bit weird in the beginning but it will be better later on. I also predict that Taryn and Jeff will break up over something than in the end Taryn will want him back so they do get back together.


I have only one question and it is...
"DOSE Taryn think of Jeff as more than a friend?"


I can not make any connection's to this story because first of all all of my neighbors have no kids except for one but there all girl's. Second of all nothing like this happened to be in sixth grade.


I really enjoy this book but the only thing I don't like about it is that is shows both points of view but sometimes it gets very confusing to me who is saying who.

I would recommend this book to girls of course, pre-teens and to people who thought my summary up top sounded good and was to there likings.

My story on Cinderella

Cinderella

           Strolling thought best buy because my dad finally said that I could get a cell phone because my dad is going on a business trip, "dad can I get this one" I asked as I pointed to a black berry.
"No, how about this one." as he picked up a flip phone and checked out its features.
"But daddy why not," sadly acting like a two year old.
"Because I said so and I'm the parent," he said strictly
"Please,"
"OK than. I will get one too so we can BBM each other while I'm gone."

Three days later.
Breaking news 
Air Canada has just been in a major crash in the Atlantic ocean and there are no survivors to be found.


The next day
"No,No I don't want to live with you. I hate you, you should have never married my dad he's to good for you. Anyways your mean, horrible, and you love pink to much." With a hard smack her hand flies across my face with a loud booming voice following, "To bad. Your father is gone now and is never coming back so I as your mother will take care of you."


Caroline in rolled me in elementary school. Since I'm 13 now I have to work for her . Its bad enough I am a nobody but now i have to work for her. My only friends are Jacklin and Janess. There both really nice but I just wish I was one of the popular kids.
"I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid to take a stand... oh hello Cinderella what troubles you for you to call me?"
"who are you? what let me guess your my fairy god mother to come grant my wish of being popular." I said sarcastically
"well no I'm the cookie monster but I am hear to grant your wish on being popular all you have to do is bring your cell phone to school tomorrow and take it out of your pocket during lunch than I will do the rest."


The next day at lunch


"Wow Cinderella that's so cool that you have a cell phone.You know what Cinderella you should hang out with us but one rule only two days a week OK?" she asked me in such a relaxed a cool way. In one big gasp I said "sure," in a excited way, "like totally." once they left and were out of my sight I quickly turn around to Jacklin and Janess and said "OMG did you hear that Rapunzel and the kool crew want me to hang out with them!"
"ya but only two days a week so I doubt that it will last."


Since I was so excited the moment I walked through the big pink door I blabbed out " I'm popular.Woo Hoo go me, go me go me..."
"Cinderella what on earth are you doing?"
"uh nothing. Why?"
"well as you walked in I heard you screaming out I'm popular and other things so I just wanted to know what all that was about?"
" well if you must know Rapunzel and her crew ask me of all people to hang out with her."

This book is about this girl named Amy who's mom is throwing a party about earth, nature and the environment. than one of her uncles ( actually she just calls him her uncle) fiancee was a owner of the coolest teen boutique in Houston and asked Amy if she wanted to be a model because her other model cancelled. And Jenelle volunteered to help her with her catwalk. And now a bratty girl named Fiona is mad. During school Mr.pearl (her science teacher) asked if Amy wanted to do a extra credit activity that will be on TV called the academic challenge and but of course she said "YES"

I predicted many things so far and hear are a few...
That Amy will be good at the catwalk but than Fiona will fail but Amy will cheer her up.
Or
That Amy will quite the catwalk because Fiona dose not want her there.

 I only have two big question that are bugging me and they are "are Amy and Fiona going to be friends after the catwalk"

"are her other friends going to still be her friend"

I have one connection to this story and it is that last year me and my friend were asked to work at a fashion business because of the designs we were making. But we could not go because of are age.

I really like this book because of how it is written for kids are age and using words that I know of already and scenarios that could possibly happen in real life.

I would recommend this book to people who like candy apple books or people who think the summary above sounds pretty interesting.but sorry for not giving a big summary because i did not get to far on this book.

The book we read was the book called "Night" by Elie Wiesel. I believe the genre of the book is a autobiography.


The book ''Night'' was about this boy named Elie Wiesel, his family and people who were and were not even the slitest bit of jewish was sent to concentration camps and were forced to work for the Nazis. The book is basically just Elie Wiesel and his dad trying to stay together and survive the evil concentration camps that they have be going to. But they have been having these horrible things happening to them witch would be hard for them to stay alive.


Since the book is already done I have not that many predictions but I could tell you the ones I had before and the ones I still have.
1-is he and his dad going to survive?
2-is he going to get the gold?


I had many questions and hear are a few of them below:
1-what happened to the mom and sister?
2-what will happen next?
3-did they survive?
4-what happened to Elie?


since this book was from a long time ago and nothing like this happened to me before I have absolutely no connections to this particular book.


I really enjoyed this book, all the detail and what he had to go through at a young age. I would have never known until we read this.The only thing I did not like was that at the end it just left us hanging. I personally like knowing the ending instead of it just hanging there.


I would recommend this book to people who would like to know more about the Holocaust or likes to learn new things in anything.
